Course Requirements
Skill-Based
Teaming
This on-line course will be conducted by a professor with
school
district administration experience who has successfully used
these applications. Course participants may, at times, be divided into
teams in order to work on projects designed to introduce and strengthen
newly acquired skills in each of the major areas.
Course Content
The course offers lectures and hands-on computer
software tools
for key administrative information database analysis tasks. The series of
"Action Assignments"
provides each participant with a repertoire of
data analysis and synthesis skills. The instructor
will share the best strategies and techniques for data acquisition,
analysis, and presentation. The course will include lectures and
computer-based assignments
utilizing actual data from a database website to
allow each participant to apply the skills learned in the previous
session. Sample video instruction allows for differing levels of
technical expertise.
Computer Experience
Course participants will use personal computers for
completion all
exercises and assignments. I do not expect all
students to already be
expert with the tools we will learn. Exercises and
assignments will be
closely coordinated with the lectures, readings,
reflective practices and
skill-based tools so that students can easily keep
pace with the course content and technology.
Course Activities
Students
are required to complete assignments according to the
schedule,
keep up with the text and article readings, post their reflective
article critiques in a timely manner, and participate with other
students
in on-line
discussions. For more information about student evaluation,
