Course Evaluation
Course
Problem Sets
There will be 7
number of problem sets leading up to a culminating project. All
problem sets will involve classroom content and computer follow-ups.
Students are expected to complete all problem sets no later than the
end of the class in the week following the distribution of the
problem. Most completed assignments will be recorded on a personal
diskette assigned to each student at the beginning of the course.
Completed problem sets will account for 60% of the course grade; the
culminating project will account for 40% of the final grade.
Culminating Project
The culminating
course project will be a well-structured and statistically supported
research paper on a school-related topic in information systems
using information system database software. Students will be asked
to design and implement a research study, applying the research and
analysis tools learned in class. The final project will be to
analyze and synthesize data based information for a school district
in developing a long term strategic plan.
